Not your typical Bed & Breakfast:

Jehovah's Witnesses Vacations at Tropical Island Bed & Breakfast (TIBB).  Although not a Super Luxury 5-star hotel, this homey Bed and Breakfast is perfect for Jehovah's Witnesses wanting a unique Vacation with features that only fellow Witnesses can provide.  The Bethel Branch Office of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Dominican Republic often recommends this facility to fellow believers.

At TIBB, Jehovah's Witnesses from all over the world experience vacations unlike any other.  Some return year after year due to the encouragement and fellowship of being with Brothers and Sisters, and yet, at the same time, can have their privacy as well.

There are a number of vacation packages of different lengths available, such as Economy, Semi-All-Inclusive, and "All-inclusive" (see below for more details).

Additionally, there are also Special Packages for, Anniversaries, Honeymoons, Graduations, and Mom & Dad
available in 5, 7, 10, & 14 day vacations.

Location:


Tropical Island Bed and Breakfast (TIBB) is located in a very quiet area,
just three blocks from the sea and boats to Bacardi Island.
Five minutes away is transportation to Samana's other beautiful Caribbean beaches.
The local Kingdom Hall is only a 15 minute walk away, or a 5 minute ride in a "Concho," and 5 minutes from Metro & Caribe Bus Lines.

Facility:

There is accommodation for 12 Brothers and Sisters in the main house.
Rooms have two queen size beds with new posturepedic mattresses.
Each room has a VCR with cable TV.  Some rooms have a private bath while others have semi-private.
Only Jehovah's Witnesses (or Jehovah's Witnesses and family members who are not JW's) are accepted as guests. 

Guests have use of the computer and internet services, use of kitchen after 2 pm, and housekeeper services. 
There is a huge veranda for relaxing, writing letters, playing cards, etc.  A large backyard can be used for BBQ's.

There is also an overflow facility with private bath some rooms allowing a total of 25 guests at one time. 
Reservations for large groups must be made well in advance.

An "All-Inclusive" Bed & Breakfast?:

While all the "Vacation Packages" come with your standard Bed & Breakfast features, many brothers & sisters requested to have everything arranged for them upon visiting the Dominican Republic.  Why? Because the Dominican Republic is a third world country.  Visitors often don't speak Spanish, don't know where to go, what to do, how much to pay for things, how to arrange transportation, etc.  Our friends feel safer having brothers pick them up, chauffer them around, arrange meals at restaurants, local Bethel tour, take them to the beaches and resorts for the day.  At the same time they have their privacy...as they are "chauffeured", to various activities, beaches, and restaurants and picked up later.

Pricing for "All-Inclusive":

Can you find less expensive package vacations through one of the large hotel chains?  Absolutely!  However, it would be unfair to compare TIBB with them.  For example, guests who stay at Resort type "All-inclusive" properties, typically stay there the entire time...eating, recreation, swimming, etc...  Any off property excursions in order to enjoy the country and its culture, such as visiting different beaches, sailing to other islands, horseback riding, visiting other resorts for the day, dining at other restaurants, are NOT INCLUDED.  In fact, they cost A LOT OF EXTRA MONEY.

The "All-inclusive" prices at TIBB include a multitude of things not included with All Inclusive Resort property vacations.  Consider the differences: 24 hour chauffeuring, traveling through the country area of the Peninsula of Samana and seeing the culture, experiencing day trips to beautiful beaches, Bacardi Island, two beautiful resorts for the day, sailing, horseback riding, eating at various restaurants, special in-house steak dinners (with Brothers), get-together with Brothers, etc. 

Why is so much included?

The simple answer is, because the Staff at TIBB, and you, the guests, are Brothers and Sisters.
Naturally, TIBB wants to provide the absolute best vacations possible for Jehovah's Witnesses.

Pricing for "Semi-Inclusive Packages":

The most popular package is the Semi-Inclusive.  It provides the best of both world, namely, a merging of the All-Inclusive and the Economy.  This vacation package allows for a personal touch of creating ones own itineray with the assistance of a Hostess.

Pricing for "Economy Packages":

For those on a tighter budget, TIBB has a Standard Bed & Breakfast arrangement where only your accommodation, breakfast, airport pickup and return, are included.  However, in order to add more flexibility, there are "add-on" options available for many of the excursions included with the "All-Inclusive" packages.

Pricing for "Romance & Gift Packages":

Are you soon to be married?  Do you know of a couple who will be?  Are you soon to graduate?  Do you know of someone who will be?  There are four specially designed packages available.  The Honeymoon Special, the Anniversary Special, the Mom and Dad Gift Package, and the Graduation Special.  Each of these based on the Semi-Inclusive package with a twist.
