SAMPLE ITINERARY
 

DAY 1

Met by Rodolfo's Tropical Mountain Airport Pickup Service.

For Puerto Plata International Airport arrivals, depart for a beautiful three hour drive along the sea on the north coast of the island to the peninsula of Samana.

For Santiago International Airport arrivals, depart for a drive through the interior of the country viewing the mountains and countryside.

For early arrivals, dinner in buffet at resort overlooking the sea.

For late arrivals, dinner at "El Rinconcito", then continue to Tropical Island Bed & Breakfast in Samana.
 

DAY 2

8:00 a.m.:  Tropical Island breakfast in buffet.

10:00 a.m.:  Leave to spend the day at a beautiful resort at the end of the peninsula with unlimited tropical drinks.  Also included for your enjoyment is a pool, sport activities, and a beautiful beach with a backdrop of the Samana Sierras.

Noon:  Luncheon in buffet.
 

6:30 p.m.:  Dinner buffet

9:30 p.m.:  Show at resort
 

10:30 p.m.:  Leave for accommodation, or at time requested.
 

DAY 3

8:00 a.m.:  Tropical Island breakfast in buffet.

9:00 a.m.:  Leave for a one hour trip to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Rincon Beach, on the other side of the peninsula.

5:30 p.m.:  Return to accommodations.

6:30 p.m.  Dinner at "Rinconcito", International cuisine & pizza. 
 

DAY 4

8:00 a.m.:  Tropical Island breakfast in buffet.

9:00 a.m.:  Leave for Bacardi Island.

Native buffet luncheon served on the beach.  Swimming/snorkelling (bring your own equipment), sunbathing all afternoon.

4:30 p.m.:  Return to accommodations.
 

6:00 p.m.:  Dinner in buffet at "Restaurente La Fletcha".
 

DAY 5

8:00 a.m.:  Tropical Island breakfast in buffet.

9:00 a.m.:  Leave for an all-day adventure to El Limon, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country - on horses or mules - enjoying a guided tour through the beautiful tropical countryside.  An adventure of a lifetime!

On the way to the falls you can see a very varied landscape, including grassy hills dotted with royal palms, cultivated fields, coffee and cocoa plots, small holdings, riverine forest, oranges and grapefruits in abundance, and some remnants of rain forest.  At one point the path leads under a toppled tree that has become a natural bridge covered in epiphytes (mainly bromeliada) colonizing the now horizontally curved trunk.  Birds abound in the early morning as well as beautiful butterflies of all shapes and colors.

The trail, La Manzana, is about 2 kilometres long, and once you arrive there and dismount your horse/mule, you will then enjoy a 300 meter hike down to the Salto Del Limon for swimming.  Upon your return, a delicious meal of local cuisine will be awaiting you under a tropical cabana.  It's an adventure you won't soon forget!

DAY 6

8:00 a.m.:  Tropical Island breakfast in buffet.

9:00 a.m.:  Leave for the isolated, but beautiful, almost virgin beach of Playa Colorada.  A trip along the northing coast of the peninsula, beautifully framed by the picturesque mountains of the Samana Sierras.  Breathtakingly beautiful!
 

Enjoy short hikes to various beaches.  Excellent snorkelling! (Bring equipment).
 

Noontime:  Picnic on the beach.  Rum and Cokes.
 

Early evening:  A farewell get together for you.  Light dinner and snacks in buffet.  A fiesta with merengue/dancing and/or enjoying the experiences and wholesome association with local pioneers and "needgreaters" or self-supporting missionaries.
 

DAY 7

6:30 a.m.:  Early morning Tropical Island Continental breakfast.

7:00 a.m.:  Leave for airport.  Take pictures along the way.  Gift or souvenir shopping in the little town of Sosua-by-the-sea or other area on the way.
 

Lunch (Time permitting):  Dominican Cuisine.

Continue to the airport.

Assistance with luggage, ticketing, head tax, changing money, immigration, boarding arrangements, etc.
